Education APPEAL

Merciful Deeds school project will provide quality education to Pakistan’s poorest and equips them with skills for success. This school will house hundreds of kids over the next 5 years. At present, millions of Pakistani children do not attend school. Those who attendare taught by poorly trained teachers. School buildings are dilapidated or non-existent and many lack functioning classrooms. As a result, 49% of the population cannot read or write and are stuck in a poverty cycle.

The project will introduce advanced contemporary education system in line with successful western academics excellence and sustainability.

SCHOOL FACILITIES

Laboratories
School will be fully equipped with up to date laboratories to conduct the practical concerning Physics, Chemistry and Biology in accordance with the prescribed syllabus.

Library
The school library is well stocked with reading material to supplement the student knowledge. Apart from reference books like encyclopedia, dictionaries and suitable literature are also available.

Modern Equipment
In order to keep the children abreast of the latest development and to maintain an effective learning process, modern electronic equipment like Projector, Computer and viewgraph unit will be provided.

Computer study / Computer Lab
Keep in view the importance and requirement of computer, regular classes have been arranged for the study of computer as a compulsory subject. Moreover a well-equipped and modern computer lab will be available.

Medical Aid
Dispensary will established inside the premises of the school with a qualified nurse in-charge. Role of the nurse will not limit to medical or first aid assistance but also to promote healthy life style.

Clubs
To create leadership qualities amongst the students, some clubs will be organised in the school. The most important being is the Science club. Tamed horses are kept by the school Administrator and trained instructors for horse riding and sports coach are also employed by the school Authorities.

Challenge

There are more than 7.3 million children who are not going to school. The majority are girls and live in rural areas. Existing schools are often neglected and dilapidated. As a result, 50% of children in school cannot read or write a sentence. This project will complete the construction on an existing school funded by Merciful Deeds, which will house up to 1,000 poor children over the next 5 years. Merciful Deeds Pilot Project is a centre for engagement, facilitating growth in adult literacy socio-economic empowerment.

Long-Term Impact

School educate and empower underprivileged students, especially girls. Each school will house state-of-the-art quality education including enhanced curriculum, computer labs, libraries, reading programs and extracurricular activities. In addition, students also have access to technology, vocational training and scholarships, embarking on a path to life-long learning. Over 1000 students, their families and others in the community will have an opportunity to improve their lives. Teachers involved in teaching will have state of art training facilities, resources and continuous professional development programmes.

Inspection (Quality and Transparency)

For the time in Pakistan school will introduce a high standard inspection using third party, experienced UK Ofsted inspector.
A brave step by the school to introduce and ensure Quality and Transparency.

School will be inspected on yearly basis on the following sections:

  • Safeguarding
  • Overall effectiveness
  • Efffectiveness of leadership and management
  • Quality of teaching, learning and assessment
  • Personal development, behaviour and welfare
  • Outcomes for pupils.

School will be judged on:

  • Grade 1: Outstanding
  • Grade 2: Good
  • Grade 3: Requires Improvement
  • Grade 4: Inadequate.
